Before ordering your salt supplies, please consider that deliveries can take up to 11 working days, although we must stress that most orders are delivered sooner, sometimes within as little as 2 or 3 working days.

Why Do Salt Deliveries Take So Long?

This is a question we are often asked. The answer is quite simple, it is all to do with the weight of the product. Delivery vehicles have certain weight limits and as salt is a heavy product, it doesn’t take many deliveries to fulfil this limit. Imagine an average delivery vehicle which carries normal size packages, these vehicles can carry many, many packages and the driver can make many deliveries during the day. With salt, the average amount of deliveries our drivers are able to legally put on the vehicle is around 12 – 16 per day. As demand for salt is growing all the time, this is not a lot.

Why can’t we use lorries?

Simply Salt use lorries for bulk deliveries, however, for smaller orders, we must use vans as many customers live in small, narrow roads with limited parking and so putting all our deliveries onto lorries wouldn’t be feasible.

Why can’t we hire more drivers
